The Pastor of Hermas
Chap. XXV.
"And they who believed from the eighth mountain, where were the many fountains, and where all the creatures of God drank of the fountains, were the following: apostles, and teachers, who preached to the whole world, and who taught solemnly and purely the word of the Lord, and did not at all fall into evil desires, but walked always in righteousness and truth, according as they had received the Holy Spirit. Such persons, therefore, shall enter in with the angels." 1

25. Kap. Der achte Berg.
1. „Mit den Gläubigen von dem achten Berge, der die vielen Quellen hatte, aus denen alle Geschöpfe des Herrn tranken, steht es also: 2. das sind die Apostel und Lehrer, die das Wort des Herrn über den ganzen Erdkreis hin verkündeten und es lehrten in Heiligkeit und Reinheit und dabei nichts wegen der bösen Begierde unterschlugen, sondern allezeit in Gerechtigkeit und Wahrheit wandelten gemäß dem Heiligen Geiste, den sie empfangen hatten. Der Wandel dieser ist daher an der Seite der Engel.“
