Works Church Order Constitutiones Apostolorum Constitutions of the Holy Apostles
Book VII. Concerning the Christian Life, and the Eucharist, and the Initiation into Christ.

VII. The Prohibition of Murmuring, Insolence, Pride, and Arrogance.

Be not a murmurer, remembering the punishment which those underwent who murmured against Moses. Be not self-willed, be not malicious, be not hard-hearted, be not passionate, be not mean-spirited; for all these things lead to blasphemy. But be meek, as were Moses and David,1 since "the meek shall inherit the earth."2
