ΚΖ Ὡς Ἡρακλᾶς τὴν Ἀλεξανδρέων ἐπισκοπὴν διεδέξατο.ΚΗ Περὶ τοῦ κατὰ Μαξιμῖνον διωγμοῦ.
[6.27.1] Διέπρεπεν δ' ἐν τούτωι Φιρμιλιανός, Καισαρείας τῆς Καππαδοκῶν ἐπίσκοπος, τοσαύτην εἰσάγων περὶ τὸν Ὠριγένην σπουδήν, ὡς τοτὲ μὲν αὐτὸν ἀμφὶ τὰ κατ' αὐτὸν κλίματα εἰς τὴν τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν ὠφέλειαν ἐκκαλεῖσθαι, τοτὲ δὲ ὡς αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰουδαίαν στέλλεσθαι καί τινας αὐτῶι συνδιατρίβειν χρόνους τῆς εἰς τὰ θεῖα βελτιώσεως ἕνεκα. οὐ μὴν ἀλλὰ καὶ ὁ τῆς Ἱεροσολύμων προεστὼς Ἀλέξανδρος Θεόκτιστός τε ὁ κατὰ Καισάρειαν τὸν πάντα χρόνον προσανέχοντες αὐτῶι, οἷα διδασκάλωι μόνωι, τὰ τῆς τῶν θείων γραφῶν ἑρμηνείας καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τοῦ ἐκκλησιαστικοῦ λόγου πράττειν συνεχώρουν.

Chapter XXVII.--How the Bishops regarded Origen.
He was so earnestly affected toward Origen, that he urged him to come to that country for the benefit of the churches, and moreover he visited him in Judea, remaining with him for some time, for the sake of improvement in divine things. And Alexander, 1 bishop of Jerusalem, and Theoctistus, 2 bishop of Caesarea, attended on him constantly, 3 as their only teacher, and allowed 4 him to expound the Divine Scriptures, and to perform the other duties pertaining to ecclesiastical discourse. 5
