Book IX.

That a kind of trinity exists in man, who is the image of God, viz. the mind, and the knowledge wherewith the mind knows itself, and the love wherewith it loves both itself and its own knowledge; and these three are shown to be mutually equal, and of one essence.

Il y a dans l’homme, qui est l’image de Dieu, une espèce de trinité , à savoir : l’âme, la connaissance que l’âme a d’elle-même et l‘amour qu’elle a pour elle-même et pour sa propre connaissance ; et ces trois choses sont égales entre elles et de la même essence.
