19. Von der Frömmigkeit darf man sich nicht abwenden.

Siehe zu, daß dich Niemand von der Frömmigkeit abwendig macht; denn der Herr sagt: „Du sollst von ihr nicht S. 229 rechts und nicht links abweichen,”¹ auf daß du in Allem, das du thust, verständig seiest; denn wenn du nicht vom rechten Wege abgehst, wirst du nicht gottlos sein.

XIX. That We Must Not Turn from the Way of Piety Either to the Right Hand or to the Left. An Exhortation of the Lawgiver.

See that no one seduce thee¹ from piety; for says He: "Thou mayst not turn aside from it to the right hand, or to the left, that thou mayst have understanding in all that thou doest."² For if thou dost not turn out of the right way, thou wilt not be ungodly.
