Or, pourvu que Dieu reste présent à ses sacrements et à ses paroles, n’importe par qui ses sacrements soient administrés, ils conservent toujours leur validité essentielle, et les pécheurs auxquels ses sacrements restent inutiles, deviennent pécheurs aussi bien dans l’unité que dans le schisme.
