XXIX. What is the Dignity of a Bishop and of a Deacon.
For if Aaron, because he declared to Pharaoh the words of God from Moses, is called a prophet; and Moses himself is called a god to Pharaoh, on account of his being at once a king and a high priest, as God says to him, "I have made thee a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet;"1 why do not ye also esteem the mediators of the word to be prophets, and reverence them as gods?
