51. Die Nachkommen Edom's und Moab's werden sich mit dem Antichrist verbinden.

Um indessen durch diese Erklärungen nicht allein Diejenigen, welche gern in den Aussprüchen Gottes forschen, zu überzeugen, wollen wir noch mehrere andere Nachweise beibringen. Daniel sagt nämlich: „Diese allein werden gerettet aus seiner Hand: Edom und Moab und das Haupt der Söhne Ammon.“¹ Ammon und Moab sind die Söhne Lot's von seinen Töchtern erzeugt, deren Geschlecht jetzt noch fortdauert. Isaias sagt nämlich: „Und sie fliegen auf die Schultern der Philistäer am Meer;² mitsammen plündern sie die Söhne des Osten, Judomäa und Moab sind zu ihrer Hände Befehl,³ und die Söhne Ammon sind unterthan.“⁴

But not to confine ourselves to these words and arguments alone, for the purpose of convincing those who love to study the oracles of God, we shall demonstrate the matter by many other proofs. For Daniel says, "And these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon." ¹ Ammon and Moab ² are the children born to Lot by his daughters, and their race survives even now. And Isaiah says: "And they shall fly in the boats of strangers, plundering the sea together, and (they shall spoil) them of the east: and they shall lay hands upon Moab first; and the children of Ammon shall first obey them." ³
