Also another Januarius of Muzuli ¹ said: "I wonder that, while all acknowledge that there is one baptism, all do not understand the unity of the same baptism. For the Church and heresy are two distinct things. If heretics have baptism we have it not; but if we have it, heretics cannot have it. But there is no doubt that the Church alone possesses the baptism of Christ, since it alone possesses both the favor and the truth of Christ." ²

« Tous confessent qu’il n’y a qu’un seul baptême, voilà pourquoi je m’étonne que tous ne comprennent pas l’unité de ce même baptême. L’Eglise et l’hérésie sont deux choses parfaitement distinctes. Si donc les hérétiques ont le baptême, nous ne pouvons pas l’avoir; et si nous l’avons, les hérétiques ne peuvent pas l’avoir. Or, il est sans aucun doute que l’Eglise seule possède le baptême de Jésus-Christ, puisque seule elle possède la grâce et la vérité de Jésus-Christ ».
