He will grant victory to the one who fights, who gave the courage to fight. Let not the multitude of enemies, nor the appearance of those warring, nor the shining, glass-like arms frighten us. David alone, a small and unarmed boy, struck down the great Goliath, strong and terrible with arms, and surrounded by a huge crowd, with a single stone's throw, and he disturbed and routed the entire camp of the Philistines ¹. But what else did the stone sent by David's hand against Goliath signify, if not Christ coming against the devil from the seed of David?
