21. Fortsetzung. Der Alte an Tagen und das Gericht.

„Ich schaute, bis daß Throne aufgestellt waren und der Alte an Tagen sich gesetzt hatte; sein Gewand war weiß wie der Schnee und die Haare seines Hauptes gleich reiner Wolle; sein Thron Feuerflammen, dessen Räder lodernd Feuer. Ein Strom, feurig und reissend, ging aus von seinem Antlitze, tausendmal Tausende dienten ihm, und zehntausendmal Hunderttausende umstanden ihn; das Gericht setzte sich, und Bücher wurden aufgeschlagen. Ich schaute wegen des Lärmens der vermessenen Reden, welche jenes Horn aussprach; und ich sah, daß getödtet wurde das Thier und zu Grunde ging sein Leib, und hingegeben ward er zum Verbrennen im Feuer. Auch den übrigen Thieren war die Macht genommen.“

"I beheld till the thrones were set, and the Ancient of days did sit: and His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool: His throne was a flame of fire, His wheels were a burning fire. A stream of fire flowed before Him. Thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood around Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then, because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake, till the beast was slain and perished, and his body given to the burning of fire. And the dominion of the other beasts was taken away." ¹
